ID - BELIEF STATEMENTS

We believe that:

* citizens of a democracy must be educated in the principles of the form of government.

* civic and social values must be taught in the home and strengthened in the school.

* it is the community's responsibility to provide the resources necessary to carry out an effective educational plan.

* the schools and the community must share their resources and talents to provide an enriched lifestyle for all citizens.

* we must maintain effective lines of communication with governmental, business, civic, and social organizations.

* educators, home, and community have the responsibility to develop in all students the skills necessary for a productive life.

* schools must keep pace with a changing global society.

* educators must maintain and upgrade their professional skills.

* educators must incorporate technological advances and innovative methods into their reaching strategies.

* educators must use a variety of teaching strategies to address a wide range of student needs.

* the process of educating students requires a partnership among educators, parents, and community.

* parents have a responsibility to work with teachers to maintain a positive learning climate.

* the home environment has a direct impact upon a student's success in school.

* students learn cooperation and teamwork by working with others.



* students with a positive self-esteem perform better in the classroom.

* self-discipline promotes learning.
