CEB - DUTIES OF SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT


The responsibilities of the Superintendent shall be:



1. The Superintendent shall attend all meetings of the Board of Education and shall act as the executive secretary of the Board.



2. the Superintendent, as the Executive Officer of the Board, shall administratively implement all policies of the Board of Education.



3. As the Board's Chief Executive, the Superintendent, by using line and staff personnel, shall:



a. Process all applications and recommend to the Board, the employment of all personnel.



b. Prepare and present to the Board of Education an itemized budget covering all proposed expenditures for each year.



c. Purchase all equipment and supplies needed in the educational program.



d. Provide monthly and annual financial reports and other reports as directed by the Board of Education.



e. Provide all systems records and reports as prescribed by the County Board and State Board of Education.



f. Delegate responsibility to staff members in order to implement all phases of the Board policies.



g. Provide progress reports to the County Board and the State Board of Education.



h. Carry out the duties of the County Superintendent of Schools under the laws of Georgia.



i. Serve as the Civil Rights Compliance Officer for the Baldwin County School System.
